Hi! I’m Jake.

A theatre producer by day, I’ve long admired photography and dabbled during my spare time. Having put the camera down to focus somewhat on theatre, I’m learning to shoot again and flexing my photographer’s eye.

Most of the work I long for revolves around portraiture. Whether it is painting in contemporary art or the lens of a camera phone turned to ‘selfie mode’, for me portraiture is it. I love vivid colours. Photos that are able to tell a story, or at least allow the spectator to form their own narrative around the people and places they see is definitely something I strive for.

Having spent the best part of my life in London I relocated to Nottingham at the end of 2019 to work at Nottingham Playhouse. Living in Nottingham has given me a slower pace of life, and one that I’m relishing as its giving me the opportunity to pick up my camera and shoot the city and people around me.

Thanks for taking the time to explore my photography and join me on this journey, wherever it may take us.
